Pros
- The pay is very good at entry level depending on what specific sector of the company you work in (i.e. I began on 90k) - Canberra's culture specifically was very good and the team were all close and enjoyed working together (just CBR however, nowhere else)
Cons
- This line of work makes you sell your soul. From the minute you begin you soon feel that you're reduced to a number that is designed to generate revenue for the company rather than actually bring insightful advice to businesses / Government - During my time there, I never felt my jobs contributed any good towards our clients, or they only seemed to benefit existing management positions rather than staff on the ground - An example: often the staff would work on various jobs designed to streamline inefficient workforces, and the only people that we'd have discussions with were with management. Not one single conversation with people on the ground doing the work, and many of them would end up losing their job - this hurts me to this day. - PwC talks a good game in terms of work/life balance and workplace diversity (particularly the latter), but they fail on almost every count to actually deliver - be prepared for 12hr days average, and conversations about balance/diversity to be agreed upon, but eventually swept under the rug.
