Pros

Smart, welcoming, driven people to work alongside- couldn't ask for a higher caliber team. Plenty of exposure to project roles and more senior clients than one would usually have coming straight out of school. I learned a whole lot about what to expect from and how to carry myself in a professional environment.

Cons

Much of the work in the Seattle market isn't as flashy or engaging as I would have liked; lots of time is spent on somewhat bland PM work. Compensation increase year over year was fair, but nothing to be excited about.

Pros

Great annual holiday allowance, opportunity for promotion, great industry experience, a lot of pressure to accumulate chargeable hours

Cons

Compensation was fairly low, the management were often cliquey and did a very bad job in terms of the people element, e.g. bad at mentoring, bad at developing people, bad at providing honest and timely feedback, often made me feel uncomfortable and made me feel undervalued and insecure.

Pros

You work with smart people and high profile clients, and the work is mostly interesting. There are many opportunities to interact directly with the client even in your first year out of college, so you mature at a fast rate as a professional. PwC is also very flexible with working arrangements (in my experience) and the benefits are great. While salaries can be a little lower, they are competitive and they do a great job explaining how your comp is determined.

Cons

If you're in consulting you can be stuck on long travel engagements. Also while the firm is great at promoting diversity and women's initaitives, almost all the leaders are still white males which indirectly permeates the power structures at all levels. As you progress in the firm, it gets harder to envision having a strong family life AND being a leader at the firm while traveling 4-5 days a week to serve your clients.
