Pros

*Decent benefits, name looks good on the resume, some good people if you look very far and very very wide. *I think I remember one day over the past two years where I did not get stabbed in the back. That was a pretty neat day.

Cons

*PwC cares very little for its employees and treats them as a resource rather than an asset *HR is a complete joke with its collective head up its a$$. As a whole it has no idea how the firm or any groups within the firm work and make completely idiotic moves on a seemingly daily basis *If you have a soul, you will hate your life after seeing backstabbing robot after backstabbing robot move up and cherished within the firm while talented, hard working, honest people get chewed up *If you do work here, do not waste your time trying to do a good job. Simply focus on fulfilling arbitrary requirements set forth by HR and you will be rewarded *Anything told to you about work/life balance is complete and utter BS. PwC has created an effective marketing campaign to make it seem like a great place to work. Don't fall for it. *If you work at PwC and start showing classic signs of depression after a few months, then congratulations! You are a human being.

Pros

Strong brand name recognition Good perks when traveling

Cons

Lack of subject matter expertise of most employees besides project management Very political 99% of the project work do not require an MBA degree Most of the time, I am just bugging the client to see if they have completed their task Nothing but a glorified soccer mom making sure project team has completed their task on time on most projects You do not gain any solid technical skills to leave PwC; after a fews years you are stuck there because you lack any subject matter expertise in anything unlike your peers in other consulting firms You tend to get pigeon holed based on your experience prior to your MBA degree Looking to leave but lack the necessary experience besides project management skills

Pros

Lots of opportunities to advance your career exist at the firm. You are definitely put on the fast track at PwC, and get exposure to many many different organizations. Even if you're not a partner candidate, you can still gain a tremendous amount of exposure to various skills and organizations (though I wouldn't vocally express a disinterest in the partnership). Having PwC on your resume is like having a silver plating, and gets you a lot of credibility in the marketplace. The Firm does support it's staff, and appears to have an interest in their well being. There's lots of metrics to manage (particularly at the higher levels) but that could also be seen as a con.

Cons

Don't bother if you have a family or would like to maintain anything resembling a personal life. Depending on which vertical you work for, you can be expected to travel 80%+. Long hours are also very common, expect to work a minimum of 50 hours/week, and an average of 60 hours/week or more. Work/life balance is a joke, the firm runs a lot of internal marketing campaigns that directly contradict their incentives package. Recently the firm has incentivized individualistic competition, so the political game is huge there. Depending on how you play your cards, you are either over utilized or under utilized, there really is no happy medium.
