Pros

Good place to work right out of college, get your knocks in, and then move on elsewhere.

Cons

Politically oriented work environment. Information hiding, which exists for self-preservation, is the standard norm. Performance is expected to, and often does, come at the expense of co-workers. This place exhibits a very poor team-oriented environment. Creative solutions are strongly discouraged. Organizational changes occur constantly, keeping most employees off-balance with regard to job security. Lay-offs occur frequently.

Pros

Fellow employees are friendly. Good environment as far as coworkers go.

Cons

Section Lead inexperienced and shows favoritism towards one particular employee on the team. That employee gets whatever he wants by whining and nagging at the expense of other employees - even employees who are more experienced and have been there longer. Lazy Management (management practices) from the lowest level all the way to the executive level. Don't train for promotions and don't promote. Younger, less experienced employees, get hired in at higher pay rates. Existing employees not brought up to the same level of pay. No loyalty to existing long-term employees. Again, lazy management practices.

Pros

Reputable company. The work is challenging and meaningful. Lots of opportunities to make an impact. Your work is visible at all levels.

Cons

The work is very tedious, repetitive, and mundane. RTX does not value tenured employees enough. High performing and tenured employees are passed over for promotions in favor of external candidates, which in turn causes these employees to look outside for work, which leads to high attrition. Employee morale is not very high. Annual raises are around 2%. Too many people are given leadership positions based on who they know instead of what they know. The culture is very old school and still run by boomers. It takes entirely too long to fill open positions.
