Pros

Flexibility with working from home. Working with the business was a good experience.

Cons

Informal processes. No true structure or organisation in IT. Resistance to improvements. Many people have carved out comfortable niches for themselves. Obedience valued over honesty. Morale was on the floor in my team. Many IT managers are completely out of their depth - no leadership or people management skills. No training or career path.

Pros

- Benefits are good. - Annual bonus is decent. - MOST of the people are nice and helpful.

Cons

- Heavy workloads with almost no work-life balance, leading to quick burn-out. - Extremely high employee turnover. - Disparate teams, processes, and systems. - Lack of communication and proper training. - Lots of red tape to cut through for even the smallest requests. - No clear-cut strategy or guidance from senior management.

Pros

- Working here looks good on your resume - If you do well in toxic environments, you'll be promoted quickly

Cons

- Grown adults gossiping and acting inappropriately. HR Does nothing about this and does not care whatsoever. - A weird culture where they purposely don't give you much guidance to push you to take the initiative to learn. This part isn't weird. What is weird is that no one is willing to help. - Extremely long hours, you'll consistently work overtime. - Turnover here is extremely high. It is simply too toxic. I have seen my colleagues being belittled by their managers in large meetings, it happens pretty frequently. Don't be surprised if your colleagues speak poorly about you behind your back or make fun of you for not knowing something, it happens often. I have also seen my colleagues getting told off for not staying late enough (looks bad, they like to stay late for "optics"). - For the number of hours you put in, the pay is simply not worth it. Your relative income is actually a lot lower. There are many CPG companies worth working for, this is not one of them.
