Pros

Sage is a great payer which made it hard to be able to leave no matter how unhappy you became.

Cons

Where do I start, clueless people in management positions. Managers bullying people below them telling them all sorts of untruths, I had to join a trade union purely for piece of mind. New starters being encouraged to post great reviews on here. Terrible terrible backstabbing culture.

Thanks for your feedback. We don't and never ask for great reviews - we ask a cross-section of people to write honest reviews and we value all feedback. Unethical behaviour is not tolerated at Sage as detailed in our Code of Conduct, and you and all colleagues here have access to the free and confidential ‘Safecall’ line in the event you wish to draw attention to any wrongdoing. We wish you every success with your career.

Shareholders First

Pros

Coworkers are very close knit and friendly. It's like going to war together. Everything is a struggle and as a result everyone bonds together against the common enemy. Vacation time accrues quicker than most companies and 5 days are offered annually for volunteer work. The ever changing commission structures can sometimes work to your advantage and play out in large dividends.

Cons

Constant inconsistency coupled to poor strategy results in short term wins with long term losses. Sage is a company that smile in your face and stab you in the back. You're nothing but a number. Sales, Service, Management or whatever role you play in the show. It's nothing more than a show to impress shareholders. Many times I've spoke with people affiliated with Sage and they all say the same thing... "Shareholders first." Investors come before training programs to enable competent managers and employees. They come before customer service and product innovations. They come before market research to improve processes. Employees continue to come in and leave within 1 year cycles. Everyone wants to join another team as soon as they start... And when they move they immediately regret it. Progression is almost useless. I have watched multiple people accept "Promotions" and constantly talk about lower pay which ultimately leads to them leaving the company.

Thanks for reviewing Sage. We totally agree with you, our people are great - our greatest asset hence the investment Sage makes in them. Whether that's the learning & development platform called Linda.com with thousands of hours of videos, from learning how to code, to how to improve your personal branding. Our new global Intranet, which is only going to get better...have you seen the careers section? It's all about how to develop your career here at Sage. Also, we recognise the importance of great leaders, so we are investing in the new leadership programme. We feel this will make a real difference as more than 2000 people leaders will be undertaking the training. We are also investing heavily in the places where our colleagues work and the feedback has been outstanding! Our Mentoring@Sage programme is something we continue to invest in as this is great for our people who wish to develop their careers. There's improvements currently being made to the on-boarding portal and we are looking to create a global induction too - this will make a difference to our new people and provide a great consistent experience. Thanks again for your feedback.
