Pros

Kind of fun culture, great product, good name recognition.

Cons

This is a great place to work if you are starting your sales career. If you are a seasoned sales rep and are used to making good money, RUN from this place. They fuel the stock price by over-saturating sales territories to the point where the only accounts you have are tiny companies where it makes no sense to have the product. The sales teams are a revolving door of people coming, getting frustrated, then leaving. People who play politics and suck up to management are rewarded, people who actually work hard are not. Zero trust internally at middle management, anyone that doesn't close their eyes, ears, and mouth and blindly follow middle management's knee jerk direction changes is managed out of the business. Zero, I mean ZERO work/life balance. Text messages and constant contact late nights and weekends to make mediocre pay.

Pros

On one hand, there are some great colleagues and amazing leaders that work there. The pay is pretty decent for the market, and generally speaking in a lot of teams you can expect good work-life balance.

Cons

On the other end, there are some incredibly toxic and incompetent leaders who seem to have the top leadership in their pocket, and so they make everyone else miserable. My department suffered a lot because of such a leader. It didn’t just impact people, but also the business bottom line. And the company is losing money because of that leader. I have seen other reviews, where some HR person responds empathetically and encourages people to come forward to them “so that your concerns can be addressed”. Please don’t do that. I have gone to that very person before I left the company, with mountains of documentation regarding the dysfunction, and the absolute disregard for ethical concerns. They flat out refused to take action, even after acknowledging that very serious mistakes were happening. They went on record to say that since nothing could be proven in a court of law, they “don’t need” to do a thing - so much for “Ohana”. Not just that, they didn’t keep my complaint anonymous, and the very people who I was complaining against, now had all power to openly punish me. The top leadership is very much aware of this department and it’s troubles. They do nothing. At the same time they keep talking about how other FAANG companies are such awful places to work, while ignoring their own backyard. If I had any time to waste, I would make my experience public and let public opinion decide if Salesforce walks the walk. I lucked out that I saw the true side of this company and how they dealt with issues. I was considered a great performer, and had no trouble finding another job with a higher scope of responsibility - so it’s completely not my loss to have had to leave Salesforce.

Pros

benefits, nice work spaces/offices, decent reputation in marketplace

Cons

the management stinks, lot's of 1-2 year managers that offer no value. It's all about metrics and pipeline generation, less that 20% will achieve their number, it's all about luck and nepotism. If you've made money in your career and want to continue making money, keep looking, most sales reps leave in >2 years. I hated working for Salesforce, too many ego's and you will spend way to much time on selling internally and appeasing others.
