Pros

Free coffee. If you have children, they will qualify for free lunch with this salary. You can pick your own hours. You get a laptop to use and take home. Great job for smokers. Close to the park if you want to go for a walk.

Cons

Bad coffee. Mgmt is a joke and the owner's number one concern is investment opportunities, not employees. TE is a start company that promises opportunity for growth. Although you get promoted, you will not get a raise. Everyone makes $13-15 an hour, despite education and experience. Many people have multiple degrees and yet they hire someone out of high school for the same pay. Only work here while you look for something else. There are no policies and procedures written, yet they have strict and ridiculous rules that change with the weather. The first wave of hire began in March and still no raises and no 401k in place as they promised. They told us it would be in effect by May and still nothing. You also have to bring your own office supplies because they will only give you a pen...and don't lose it bc it's a scavenger hunt to find a new one. There isn't a printer either. Dress code is supposed to be professional---on a $13 an hour salary--yeah right. Women had to wear pantyhose but that recently changed. First and second wave hires are mostly checked out. Most already looking for other opportunities. Too many promises with this company that they just could not deliver. Most employees were hopeful and optimistic. I've wasted my time hoping this was a career investment opportunity. Don't make the same mistake.

Pros

Nice people, exposure to a Fortune 500 client. They do offer telehealth which helps if you can't afford the high cost of health insurance

Cons

Where to begin...one person said "Bait and Switch," which is an accurate description. It was sold as a start-up with lot of potential. The truth is, they will give you more work without more pay. Even getting $1/hr more has to be approved by the CEO. Management is often described as bipolar. At group meetings they are all smiles, meanwhile they are downloading reports of your badge swipes so they can tell if you're spending too long in the bathroom. Be prepared to be treated like a child and lectured all the time.

Bait and Switch...much left to be desired

Pros

Offered a great opportunity for industry change; they recognize transferable skills Most of the people you work around make it a fun place to spend your day Ongoing challenges and opportunities to gain additional skills

Cons

Where to begin. First, they advertise, recruit and pay as an "entry-level position with a start up company". Company has been around a few years, and the positions require a much higher level of aptitude and experience than they lead on. It makes the pay almost insulting, and no one can live on it - it's literally poverty level pay. Contrary to their claims, leadership, coaching and mentorship is non-existant. Even solicited feedback is sidestepped. They clearly hired for "management" and not "leadership". Over the last 6 mos the US site has been open, I've seen an enormous shift in management style. At first it was casual, open and encouraged self-accountability. You can see and sense the shift towards a micromanagement approach; there's a new rule everytime you turn around. I've never worked somewhere where I had to answer to HR for job duties. HR has way too much power over the entire site.
