Pros

Not much that I can think of...

Cons

I want to preface this review by saying I have never written a review for a company mainly because I didn’t feel it was necessary until now. I want people to be aware and think twice before applying. I also want to say that I have worked for some successful organizations that were 10x to 33x in revenue and with stellar C-Level management with degrees from Harvard and Stanford who know what excellent company culture looks like and how to treat their people. To put this into perspective, I’ve had a very long career in IT and know how successful companies conduct business and this place isn’t one of them. In addition, the employees that came before me also had the same experience. The management doesn’t listen or value their employees. They jump to conclusions, have knee jerk reactions, change processes at any given time, have a lack of proper procedures, make things up as they go along, overload you with work, expect 16-hour workdays, thousands of layoffs for months on end, no appreciation or thank you for all the work you do and the list goes on and on. The management is very rude and disrespectful. No one should have to tolerate this type of conduct, so please save yourself from the stress, burnout and disrespect and look elsewhere.

Unstable and stressfull workplace

Pros

- Flexible work hours - Choice of full remote, hybrid or full on-site - Talented employees - Profit sharing typically between 5% and 15% - RSU grants can be earned as an additional reward - Employee stock purchase plan with 15% discount - Somewhat competitive pay (but typically well below other similar employers)

Cons

- CEO and CFO rely on layoffs every year, for the past several years, to meet shareholder expectations rather than focusing on engineering to roll out new product. Just completed a round of layoffs this month and have already announced another round for 2025. - Very low moral due to extreme job uncertainty - Many key people earning higher salaries have been let go or are jumping ship (brain drain) - Product Engineering VP out of touch with ICs, engineers are struggling and unable to keep up with work demands resulting in high rates of burnout. She frequently changes directions and leadership is erratic at best.

Was a great company once

Pros

Teradata technology is still great, as are some of the people, and it is an outstanding cloud-agnostic analytical database choice which can be deployed in many different ways

Cons

Despite lip service to the contrary outside Cloud Provider integration, and SI collaboration if forced, there is no real commitment to partnering. Although the technology still holds it's own, other newer technology in the same space are viewed as better in the market as a whole. They have been on a multiple year cost cutting frenzy to account for the failure of a strategy to move to indirect channels. Given the failure of the strategy, revolving door at the top other than the CEO, and uncertainty of any job in the organization, I couldn't recommend working there to anyone.
