Pros

none to date, pass on the opportunity and save yourself the nightmare.

Cons

Poor Training, extremely very high turn over rate. No reimbursements for anything: marketing costs, gas, personal auto, personal phone, business cards, tolls, express lanes, etc... are all at personal costs as in no base salary. One is better off doing real-estate with better dividends.

Pros

The Home Depot is considerably one of the best companies that I have had the opportunity to be employed with. They really do care about their associates and they demonstrate that in numerous ways such as providing us with special meals if you happen to work a holiday, as well as give you holiday pay, they conduct a yearly survey that is completely anonymous which gives the associates a chance to provide the company with feedback, whether it be positive or negative on how the company is doing and what needs to be improved. They do awesome things for the community such as participate in charities and benefits. They provide some decent health and insurance plans, even though the cost of it seems to have increased over the years. In the building that I work for, our Human Resource team is located directly in the front and have an open door policy, which is amazingly convenient if you ever have any issues that need to be resolved ranging from something as little as a mispunch on your attendance to something as major as a life changing event like a death in the family. The pay is generous and has increased since I initially began working from a mere $10 to $16 and some change in a matter of 3 years (non-salary pay/general associate). The management team lacks adequate leadership but they certainly try their best to accommodate the associates to best of their ability as long as it does not conflict with the needs of the company. The attendance policy used to be very lenient compared to what it is now. Associates were on a point system (6 lates/8 absences/6 mispunches) which was actually 12/16/12 until associates learned of the extra leeway and began to abuse it so they just redesigned it to its original 6/8/6. It used to reset every year but since they cut everything in half it is now reset every 6 months. But it's tricky. Each point resets 6 months from the time it accrued vs. when the entire attendance record used to be wiped clean all at once after the year anniversary. They do give special awards to hard working associates and recognize the best ones with Associate of the month and a special parking space right up front. They have a special Homer Fund designed for associates in need of financial assistance. They even give away special prizes on certain occasions (fyi: I won a 40 inch Samsung flat screen smart tv for christimas). They offer multiple shifts that are designed to fit best for you and the company's best interest. 2 night shifts, 3 day shifts. full time and part time shifts available. Tuition reimbursement offered as well. Employee discount perks to various retailers, such as verizon wireless, at&t, sprint, Directv, etc. Stock purchase is available at lower cost to employees. The list goes on.

Cons

Not a lot of job security for upper management. I've seen a lot of good people let go. Attendance policy needs to be improved (feels like walking on eggshells)

Pros

Financially stable, many good people. LBGT friendly as are most minority groups, Sadly I can't think of 20 words to fill the requirement for this post.

Cons

Horrible management, many, many untalented, uneducated managers. Management is often clueless, Command and control mentalities reign supreme. The longer ones tenure here, the bigger the target on one's back.
