Awful working place

Pros

The salary is not bad.

Cons

Awful strategic planning. Managers are just looking for trendy keywords to apply to what they’re doing so the can get the budget for their team in the companies internal market but don’t actually intend to do the job (like machine learning or deep learning). The internal market makes it almost impossible for teams to collaborate and you wait a huge amount of time for other people to deliver on what they’re supposed to do. There’s no budget for innovation and whichever proof of concept gets created it always ends up in the pile of ‘good to have but will never move to production’ projects.

Avoid Luxembourg office!

Pros

Salary over average, in order to make a career you just need to obey.

Cons

I am to give my feedback on Luxembourg. Well, in short: no Management= UBS management in Luxembourg. No decisions taken in Luxembourg. Ppl are promoted to managers because they are good technicians but have absolutely no people skills. These same people know they are getting away with it as long as they say yes to everything. Noticed two dominant features: - passive aggressive attitudes as no one dares to critizise since it will backlash on you. - Agressive male orientated approach where the highest position will exercise the authority by shouting, demoting, - Impossible to move internally, they are not open to change at all. They don't encourage internal change.
