Pros

Big company. Long history. Good mission on paper. Much money. Good ideas with bad realisation. Good scope of technologies that could be used in right way.

Cons

Stupid security system - you spend a lot of time to get software for work, but you can get approve for anything unsecure also. Legal department marked that I had a problems with the law, but I haven't any and I couldn't change it. Silly trainings at the begining. They spend a lot of time for meetings. Managers tries to make task instead of developers and engineer must to fix it after them. They respect only managers. I had 4 managers at the same time. And every asked me every hour "How it's going?" Scrum? Agile? Friendly atmosphere? Forget about it.

Pros

Within IB IT, the company various teams work together as one bank helping each other.

Cons

Like many investment banks, most senior management over IT does not have an IT or engineering background. They don't invest in IT systems or IT people as much as many younger and more high tech banks.

Pros

One of the top paying companies in Switzerland for employment. Title heavy in appearance. Director level has annual guaranteed minimum expense payment.

Cons

Company is involved in the long term process of slowly hollowing itself out. Investment Bank division in highly outsourced with cheap foreign contract staff. On-shored contractors are brought in on a temporary basis, rotated out frequently. Technical roles are typically off-shored (Poland, Singapore) to contract workers. Higher compensated permanent staff are targeted, laid off to facilitate the off-shoring. Technical staff for IB and WM divisions are parked in Corporate Centre division. From my observation, the CC division is structured to run at a loss; this strategy minimizes staff salary increases and bonus payments, as attached to division profitability. For all appearances, the Swiss government looks the other way, facilitating this Bad Actor company.
