Pros

It was a wonderful learning opportunity. Like every other IB, you have to be on the right side of the regime...

Cons

Some pockets of old boys clubs... and lack of focus at the grand senior level. Other than that it was a nice place.

Pros

Good benefits, flexible work hours, laid-back atmosphere

Cons

Since layoffs started in 2007, UBS has been downsizing. Changes in management, changes in direction, statements, 'quick wins'. If you work in IT, the technologies in most of the groups are badly outdated. Recent staff reductions across all levels of organization left most application teams bare bone. UBS is late to jump on the 'lefts outsource IT' band wagon, but they certainly picking up more speed. With staff cuts came the benefits cuts. No more free ferry service. If you live in NJ or commute by car, parking costs the same as ferry.

Pros

-depending on the manager, flexible working arrangement - compensation for outside hires can be competitive - relatively generous training and benefits

Cons

- no feedback from upper management - almost no effort made to retain talent already there - terribly outdated systems and poor morale
