Pros

While some banks are more cutthroat and competitive, UBS is generally more collegial. People work hard, but the stress level seems a bit less than other places. The atmosphere in the office is generally pretty laid back, until things heat up during a crisis. Hours are flexible as long as the work gets done. Some come early, some stay late.

Cons

Getting ahead is frustrating. A lot of old Swiss bankers are pushed up just by virtue of being Swiss, it seems. There don't appear to be many young people in higher positions, but it may differ between departments. Also, salaries aren't as high as other shops.
