      Decent place to work - don't expect to get paid

      Pros

      Solid work/life balance (roughly 45 hours per week) and decent PTO (20 days). Unusual degree of opportunity for junior/mid-level staff to lead large projects.

      Cons

      Poor compensation (bonuses are well below market). Requires all brokerage accounts to be maintained in-house, which is annoying because UBS fees are significantly higher than other shops (e.g., Fidelity). IB/Sales & Trading businesses are dying. Senior management is (understandably) focusing on wealth management. Strong desire to "near-shore" compliance officers to Nashville.

      Big name, big hierarchy, low benefits, no growth

      Pros

      Good place to be in till your retirement - safe. you can easily spend 10-20 yrs without any risk.

      Cons

      no growth, stagnation, so much work, so less resources, cost cutting, bad benefits, no increments, no bonuses top down approach - lots of hierarchies, beurocracy, politics
