Pros

Working with some great people: experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated and willing to help when needed. The ability to work on a diverse range of projects. The chance to gain experience working on some very interesting systems.

Cons

Working with some difficult people: aggressive, hostile and generally unfriendly. Poor work-life balance. Little job security. No excess capacity to innovate and as a consequence most time and effort is spent keeping the lights on. Very risk adverse.

good compensation when you start (including life insurance, pension, etc)

Cons

After a few years at UBS, you realise how it's all about politics and people only care about saving themselves. expect to get blamed by everything, even worse when its out of your competence/skillset and team. very bad handling contractors (force them to take leave then fire them while they are on leave, etc)

Company culture is good. depending on the area/team, you have a chance of keeping a reasonable work/life balance.

Cons

Internal mobility is limited. Appraisal process is changing all the time, still haven't found a way to make it objective.
