Pros

Learning & Development UBS invests heavily in employee training (internal learning platforms, mentorship, certifications). Great for upskilling in finance, risk, tech, and project management

Cons

Silos Between Teams Some people report challenges in cross-team collaboration or "silo mentality" in departments.

Pros

- I’ve got good base when recruiting from outside - Many great people work there - They react to feedback and it slowly changes

Cons

- I have seen mobbing on daily basis, this included yelling, bulling, power trips, friction and fights. It seems because of UBS „place to work your entire life” Swiss culture execs try to break weak links instead of removing them. Also they prefer quantity over quality - product leads have total control, and they are incentivised based on delivery speed while issues are blamed on technology who in theory should resist the mobbing or raise it so handling this is part of our job. And then every 5 years they have a free feature - rebuilding and rewiring everything - Low skill in UK and India - Very slow feedback process, very slow progression, generally effort feels bad and it is a better place for people who are not ambitious and want to do corpo „severance” type of a deal - Lots of egos and some office games, this is not a place which works based on merit and getting the best outcomes - Some of the worst code and quality I have ever seen - Always couple years behind on everything due to poor leadership, bad structure and processes, lack of skill - Lots of smart people but because of how long they worked for UBS they greatly lack perspective
