Pros

The culture within the company is big on ownership and internal promotion, which is how it should be in any large corporation. The benefits are very generous, 401k match is good too. Management is trained on how to handle many situations. There is no limit to sick time off and short term disability is 6 months at 100%. Open door policy is real (not just words on a page).

Cons

Pay seems to be below industry rates within IT. Many of the workers within the company are contract, even though they aren't brought on for any specific contract but moreso for employee style work. Changing this over would likely save the company money and greatly improve morale.

Pros

stable company with a good reputation ( from the outside)

Cons

can't change quickly. There are too many long timers( with 25 -35 years) in the company who are financially able to retire at 55 but are only interested in keeping status quo until they can get out.

Pros

UPS offers part time employees quite possibly the best bennefits of any part time employer i have seen. Depending on location part time employees may also bennefit from tuition re-imbersment of (dont quote me) i believe around a cap of $2k per semester. Part time employees usually have shifts that are perfect for working around a full-time job. I know of a few peple at our center that own their own businesses that work part-time for the insurance. Pay is prety decent although of course for the work, I would enjoy a little more. Starting pay in my area is 9.00/hr with a yearly raise of 0.50. usually i see about a two year employment time before part time employees are able to bennefit from more opportunities such as: extended hours, cover driving, management, possibly even full time positions depending on just how lucky they are. Also on how they handle their job and how they perform under stress.

Cons

The work is a little rough at times but for only a couple hours of your garunteed 3.5 hours. so it is manageable.
