You will learn to lead or fail trying. You will have good bosses and bad bosses and bad bosses. It will be a trial by fire You will see some interesting places. You will meet lifelong friends. You will leave very tired, but very proud. There's always time to sleep when you are done.

- there is an excellent work/life balance - fast promotion to GS-12 - travel opportunities to naval bases - good benefits package

Cons

- salary ceiling is far too low - impossible to fire incompetent workers - stagnant after initial promotions - work is mundane - lots of red tape - poor communication - bad reputation
