Pros

The navy offers great training, some of the best in the world. You get unique opportunities that lead to cool missions. Pay is decent, especially if you rank up quickly. Plenty of benefits while you're in and when you get out. Sweet retirement plan!

Cons

My least favorite thing is the military tends to treat adults like children and, more importantly, a lot of people in leadership either don't know what theyre doing or don't care.

Pros

Serving your country can be one of the greatest opportunities, but don't do it for the money or the benefits. If thats what motivates you then its not for you.

Cons

Many things will surprise you both for the good and the bad, I lost friends, my personal life nearly dissolved, and i went through many other trials, but it was worth it.

Pros

Low stress and easygoing. Very flexible hours. Great benefits. Once you're hired by the government, it's practically impossible to get fired.

Cons

Advancement pretty much completely time-based, not merit or skill, unless you already have prior work experience. Since it's practically impossible to get fired from the government, you also have people on your team that probably never should have been. Management pretty much only cares about money and deadlines.
