      Pros

      [This experience is from 2012. Things may have changed since then]. Modern offices, lots of free food and parking. A great mix of international people.

      Cons

      No atmosphere - employees sit in silence. Potential for a bully culture - for example: One of the employees shouted at and tried to humiliate me in front of the whole office. The same employee also raised her voice to a permanent member of staff.

      Pros

      It is a great company to work and it was even greater to work for when it was effectively controlled by Carl Eschenbach. Technology remains in demand despite the great challenges from both heavy weight and startups technology provider. They need to find a formula to carry forward in the world of giant public cloud providers as well as SaaS offerings

      Cons

      Europe is a black hole in VMware... It is run as a french government office that is dedicated only for old France people (i.e. not immigrants). If this continues I can see VMware paying some heavy price for one of the things everybody wants to be far away from it (e.g. sexual harassment, discrimination based on gender, race, religion, nationality, or sexual orientation)

      Good company if you want to settle for life

      Pros

      There is not much pressure on you, hence this is a great place if you want to settle down for life. Too many different things to explore. Core computer science work will good on resume.

      Cons

      Work culture is not great, the average age of the company is pretty high. Most of the amazing research things happen in Palo Alto office, hardly anything great in Indian offices
