Pros

I would love to try and say something positive in the interest of being fair but honestly can't think of anything. There are still a few good, talented staff at VNS but I doubt they will all stay much longer.

Cons

Poor morale, absent senior management, total blame culture, zero reward for hard work and no chance of career progression. Everybody is utterly fed up and miserable. Some involuntary redundancies have already been made so now just waiting to see who is next which is hardly a boost of confidence. I feel foolish for being taken in by the fancy marketing videos and promise of upcoming projects when I joined.

Pros

Working in the nuclear industry sounds impressive

Cons

Senior staff seem to be rapidly jumping ship (maybe they know something?). Lots of key people have left over the last six months. Probably due to losing contracts and failure to deliver anything on time or budget. No efforts to retain staff or keep staff motivated. They are slowly taking away benefits to cut costs which might be a sign of how things are going....

Pros

Has an interesting background in its origins as Oxford Technologies ltd

Cons

Has been subject to 2 takeovers since! The original canoe has been leaking for a few years, no-one has any idea where the paddles are and the ration packs fed to the ducks. There might have been a time when the creek name was known but that has long vanished with the large percentage of staff leaving during covid. What VNS needs is clear direction and support from Veolia, an achievable map for the future, investment in staff, recruitment of appropriately experienced staff and a complete change of leadership. None of which are in evidence at the moment.
