Pros
There are good engineers, but sadly they are stuck in a company that doesn't have a clue how to keep it's head above water. Those good engineers are not going to last long at a company that's not able to transition to new markets and opportunities, and saying cloud, is not a goal. It's meaningless, unless you are "transforming", or "revolutionizing" how others experience and interact with data and backups, in the cloud, or in a datacenter, doesn't matter. There is huge potential for this company, but the operative word here is "potential", unrealized potential. I'm pretty sure the CEO thinks it's the `90's and he's crushing it, reality is Carley must be looking to off load this turkey. Pity the company that buys this pile of hot mess.
Cons
The products are sad and tiered, and will soon be obsolete. Just ask yourself, "What does Veritas do?" Did you have to go look at the web site to figure it out? Did that help? I bet not. Well, there you go. Why would you use anything this company produces? It's hard to answer that question, and that is certainly a big problem, it's one of many, but getting that right works to solve the others. First line managers are struggling to keep the lights on as executive leadership tunes their instruments, as they ready themselves to play on the sun deck of the Titanic.
