Pros

The discounts offered are good, that is the only positive thing about working at this place

Cons

Waitrose in Witney was a deeply unpleasant experience, primarily due to the toxic management. The store manager Andy’s leadership style was awful, relying on scare tactics to maintain control rather than fostering a positive work environment. His behaviour created a culture of fear and stress, making the job unbearable not just for me but many other employees as well. To make matters worse, another manager's inappropriate behaviour was a constant source of discomfort. Constantly messaging younger members of staff inappropriately through social media platforms but also getting some mobile numbers from their contact details they submitted to work and messaging them through that, a complete breach of GDPR. It's disappointing that such issues were not actually taken seriously until recently. As it had been going on for 10-15 years according to some of the longer serving partners, and was constantly being kept quiet by all of the other managers, leaving most younger staff to feel like they could not talk to anyone about a very serious issue. Overall, the management made what could have been a decent job utterly miserable.
