A good heart but bad surroundings
Pros
- Partnership Benefits are fantastic, direct discounts, sales, extra company benefits and the like - Hourly Pay is in aliment with London living wage with a small amount of head room - Quality of service in general services provided company wide are generally good - Generally good ground work place culture, in all branches I've operated the ground staff were generally positive and polite, with expectations - An experienced and generally well organised Team leader workforce - Generally fair treatment Really the main draw is in general the workplace culture which I do genuinely find is very positive and uplifting
Cons
- Non standardised progression pathways leading to a lack of supervisoral level retention as many (including myself) find better ventures elsewhere - Poor systems reliability, which impact sales and services - Shrinkage issues not being addressed directly from up down, leading to ether good or bad methods to address it - Horribly organised repair and maintenance infrastructure for vehicles - Labour model changes which prioritise stock management over Customers - Changes to pay scale elections which have effectively not allowed for real pay rises for two years ( 2022 - 2024 ) - Lack of end of year bonuses and the dates for such being pushed back in any event - Specific to certain branches, antagonist and toxic middle management (TMs) - Recruitment handling - Dependent on branch and management could absolutely be on call near constantly to fill gaps - Changing workplace culture which has impacted retention of new staff, increasing the pinch on existing staff members - Most Waitroses are a little worse for wear
