Pros

The store I worked for were very good at inviting back students outside of University term time so I was able to study and then fit in work to save up ready for the next term. Often meant I could pick my own hours since the store was so busy over the seasonal period. Also worked full time during a gap year on a wine and beer department which was no bad thing - in fact I learnt a lot behind the logistics side of the business: ordering stock; managing the warehouse; and being efficient with time ... all were a good experience for a Business Studies student. The annual partner bonus was of course a good plus too.

Cons

The Thame store was particularly made up of a lot of unhappy, middle age, demotivated staff. The management weren't very good at communicating day-to-day and so the store had definitely developed a "b**ching" culture. Fortunately I knew I was only there for a short period of time.
