Pros

Get time off needed, and the workload is spread out. Management is very up to date with what we need to do, and how to get it done.

Cons

District manager is always riding us if we do a bad job, and never congratulates us if we do a good one..

Pros

good employee discount. 15%-20% profit sharing plan

Cons

no life. work weekends and nights very low wage compared to work, they expect you to do maximum work with minimum wage! managment needs to leanr more managment seriously, everyone goes on vacation and the store manager leave an assistant manager with another 2 employees to run awhole store on a weekend! and sometimes forget to schadaule employees to close so the assistant manager left alone unless someone volunteer to close! again , no promotions, doesnt prize good workers, manager goes with flow! insist on certain employees to close/work late 5 nights a week! and they dont even want that!

Pros

My boss is very generous as to who he's willing to rehire back as he's rehired me for about the 4th time. It's a great place to work if you can pick up and know what you're doing right away. The employees are great and the management is alright. The hours I do not mind at all. My store along with other stores are 24 hours so you can work whatever shift you desire. Customers are usually great, but you will get some very annoying regulars who come to the store. After 9pm, around this area, it tends to get wild with random druggies and drunks come into the store. It's whatever. We have to satisfy all the customer's needs. I do enjoy the fact that some people return their gratitude for giving them good customer service. I just wish some people would just praise and comment me and whoever deserves the recognition to the higher management or district managers so I can get one of those little pins!. oh and Profit sharing. don't skip out on that.

Cons

Promotion from within the company is quite picky. If you are not a "people person", then you will have the hardest time trying to become an assistant manager if you do not have any sort of degree. This new kid just got hired a month ago and already has more potential than I do because of his people skills while I've worked at Walgreens for over 2 years. In my store, there isn't much work recognition from certain managers. The managers who 'care' for the employees will actually tell them if they've done a good job or not while the other assistant managers who are think they're higher up tend to ignore good employee's works. It's not as 'professional' as you may think.
