We don't live in a perfect world, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
Pros
Job Security, Walgreens is growing and I have not seen a decrease in growth. I also enjoy serving the general public. The elderly makeup a large proportion of our customers. You maybe the only personal contact and interaction that person has. You maybe able to provide a service or product that person may need or want to make their lives easier or comfortable. I myself feel a great pride do for those that can't do for themselves.
Cons
Middle management is often underdeveloped as leaders. They lack the ability to manage time, personal, and resources. They stifle the development of new and innovative ideas. I also feel that there is a great deal of defensiveness about the operation of the stores. I would like to see a greater and extensive training period of management to better prepare them for responsibilities and challenges of leading a store.
