Pros

*Option to buy stock + employer contribution

Cons

*Politics at its best *Prepared to be slaved *No such thing as unlimited PTO (way for Walmart to save money) *Chances of moving to different teams is virtually impossible unless you've been with the company a min of a year and must either be strategic about your move. Only other way to leave the team is if the manager does not like you.

Don’t believe the narrative on social media

Pros

Vast career options from store operations, logistics, merchandising, marketing, administration, international and more.

Cons

Relies on consultants to think and associates to do (Shouldn’t the opposite be true?). Poor executive leadership and management that relies on authority from top down for execution. Support areas such as HR and Legal have too much authority and do not serve the best interest of the associate or the customer. Takes a defensive position on litigation risk adding more bureaucracy than necessary. Fear and insecurity are at every turn, resulting in an every-man/woman-for-him/herself. The narrative on social media suggest that the company is thriving. Don’t believe everything you read. What is posted is often an attempt to counter-balance the toxic working conditions or is someone merely trying to impress their boss or to get off the bottom 10% list.

Cons

Walmart is a very big organisation that holds a good reputation in the market. It is a dream company for many of the youngsters. But the management over here is very unpredictable. Managers and team leads involves in team politics. Being a big brand doesnt guarantee you any type of job security. Their will be a fear of loosing your job at any time. You need to take unnecessary leave approvals even if you are in some family emergency or you woke up sick in the morning. One of the worst policy ever i have seen in a brand. Hr is useless. One of the worst hr ever i had experienced. Always involved in team politics. Doesnt even bothered about discussing any company benefits and policies to the new entrant. They believe in referal hiring due to which talented people wont get the opportunity which spoils the work environment. Team leads itself dont have any important work apart from playing politics.
