Pros
The benefits are very good. Management is mostly understanding of need for additional time off for personal or family reasons. There's a focus on employee recognition, although a lot of the time it seems like management hands out recognition awards because they have a quota to fill.
Cons
There's not really any room for advancement. Managers move between different operational areas all the time, which means that they often have little understanding of or expertise in the areas they're managing. There's two classes of employees: managers, and the rank-and-file. The theory seems to be that rank and file is completely interchangeable with other rank-and-file, and managers are interchangeable with other managers. If you're rank and file, don't bring your brain to work.
