Philosophy is absolutely lost in this company

Pros

There are still a handful of people in each of the facilities that I have been to that actually care about people and their jobs

Cons

The open door policy that is preached at this company is an absolute joke. Predatory management techniques are commonplace. A lot of misleading promises get made to employees constantly with very little follow-through from management. Profit sharing in the 3 WSP plants is an absolute joke. Honesty from management is 100% non-existent. Be prepared to work tons of hours and be expected to switch shifts with little or no notice. Also be prepared to have your livelihood threatened if you are 6 minutes late or question why you need to double back in with no notice while your wife and children are at home sick. On top of all of that be prepared to see the boys club promote only certain people and give decent merit increases to only the people that they like. (regardless of how much you do and how little they do). When you have a facility where people are voluntarily leaving with or without provisions made for future employment that's saying a lot.

Pros

Profit sharing (if you get it), discounted health care

Cons

Let's be real, you know most of the positive comments are left by internal HR Reps wanting to protect the brand. So with that said, let's get down to the facts. This company pays their employees pennies compared to others in the area. Yea, yea, I get it....what about profit sharing right? Well WI considers Profit Sharing apart of one's compensation; however, it is not guaranteed. The HR team at WI is a complete joke and the Diversity and Inclusion initiative is another bogus front to try and fix a broken culture. Most of the employees are fake and cliques rule the office.

Pros

Profit Sharing and Discounted Health Care

Cons

The vast majority of employees/management are fake as hell. The new President of Steel talked about "Ending The Politics," in a recent BS change story, but ended up FIRING a majority of his executives; replacing them with his personally picked favorites...talk about Politics.
