Pros
There are many really brilliant engineers, the culture is also very open and encourages communication and knowledge sharing across groups and departments.
Cons
Diluted company mission, bad management is abound, not really an engineering company, bad product management can be demotivating. Decision making processes depend highly on managers' personal charisma, much less so on real data. There is also a kind of anarchy in engineering which leads to much effort duplication (each group developing their own solution for a seemingly common problem), lack of common infrastructure and difficulties in interoperability.
