Pros

opportunities for growth, get to meet great people on your team, great learning experience of the "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

Cons

This company has a great idea that has all but disappeared through the terrible management practices of Upper Management employees. A lot of the corporate employees are very unprofessional: they give you a time when they will do something for you, don't do it, and don't even follow up. The philosophy is: if you need something, you need to keep calling, ten times, to ten different people if you have to. They do not have established training guidelines/programs for any position, and yet they have tremendous expectations. The feedback from corporate is frequently not constructive, they do not offer solutions to any problems. They do not give you sufficient resources.

A waste of 5 years of dedication

Pros

It is a prestigious retailer to work for. The amount of work is so much that will gain relevant experience that will be very useful in other large retailers, or even other fields. You do not need a degree to get promoted to management.

Cons

The lack of structure in this company is unbelievable! They have a general understanding of what they want to be, and where they want to go, but they lack the training and education to make it happen (The majority of DMs and HR managers have not set a foot in a college or university). There is also a tremendous lack of communication between departments -LP wants things done a certain way, your DM wants it this other way, the company tells you to do it in a complete different way- and managers end up being reprimanded because one of the members of corporate is not happy with what and how you did something. The corporate team is very unprofessional and rude; yet they expect high levels of professionalism and respect, which quite frankly is hard to give when you are being spoken to like a young kid, regardless of the years of experience you may have. The turnover rate is off the roof! management, sales associates, full time and part time... name it, and they are in and out those doors. They make false promises to get talented and over qualified people in as sales associates, who will eventually find out that there is nothing available for them, and Zara just wasted their time. After 5 years with the company, I realized that I was never going to get another promotion, never got recognition for anything, worked as hard as I possibly could, and yet it got to the point where it was more than obvious they wanted "fresh" faces in the building (even when I am one of the youngest managers in our region). It is sad that I believed I could continue growing, but the last two years of my career there just felt I was being exploited and taken advantage of.

Pros

it is a great opportunity to get into the fashion world, build your career from the ground up and if you are full time as a sales associate they give you good hours and train you pretty well in a short amount of time

Cons

sometimes it gets to be too hectic and takes alot of your time and effort, all the stores may or may not be as organized with scheduling like they should be.
