KPMG Manager interview questions

I had 1st round of technical interview and the interviewer clearly told me that I cleared 1st round and processed me for next managerial round which he confirmed on the same day but nothing happens and next day when I followed up with HR they said the position has been closed. I was highly disappointed with the response.

Hiring and Interview process is pretty much standard as in all other organizations. However there are multiple rounds of interviews ranging from a Director round to HR round and Finally it ends with a partner round.
