my buddy gave my name to one of the recruiters and it was an overall decent experience. I had a next conversation with what I believe was either the hiring manager or senior person on the team. She acknowledged my lack of experience but took the time to get to know me. I'm disappointed that I was not selected for the next step but I challenged in a good way. I would apply to LinkedIn again and recommend for new or relatively inexperienced grads just to go through the interviewing experience.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at LinkedIn (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2012
Interview
Scenario based. Friendly, easy going with Recruiter. Harder and more prescriptive with the hiring manager. They take longer for certain positions because they want to test your cultural fitness:) Remain patient and seek to understand why they are asking the questions that they do from their point of view. Think big, think creatively. They appreciate innovation.
