I applied online. I interviewed at Waitrose (London, England) in Jun 2018
Interview
The actual physical interview was very brief, more like a chat with a few questions and clarification of my online appliction, felt informal and fine. Then there was meant to be a group activity type thing but as there was only two of us in this instance we did it individually, its basically a written scenario which they ask you to sort out in terms of how you would deal with the issues set out - ie you arrive for your shift and these are the things that need doing - how would you prioritize them etc, there are no real right or wrong answers they are just looking to see if you have common sense I think.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They did ask me why Waitrose and I said purely it’s because its really close to where I live.
Had a group interview which involved working in small teams working on a task they presented you. Then individual interview, about what I would do in various scenarios. Friendly staff, quite enjoyable.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Waitrose (Brighton, England) in Jul 2017
Interview
It was a group interview, there was supposed to be 4 of us but only me and one other guy showed up. The interviewer was a manager. We were given the profiles of some Waitrose staff and different tasks that needed to be done throughout the day, we then had to assign the staff to the tasks and decide which jobs to prioritise on the time scale of one day. We had to work together then present our proposed schedule to the interviewer. We then both had individual interviews where the manager told us straight away that we had done very well and he was going to offer both of us the job. He then asked simple questions about when I could start and what days I could work.
