Pros

Fast paced environment, especially on the weekends. You always have something to do, whether it’s cashiering, stocking, cleaning, etc. Base pay got moved up to 12.35 after I was working only a month, so that was nice. For an entry level store associate position, I don’t think you can expect to make more than that.

Cons

Very labor intensive, ALDI runs on working as few people as possible as hard as they can, and this can catch up to you quickly. I know multiple people that have been hurt on the job, and luckily management is pretty cool about giving you time if you need it. The job is already demanding, so a solid team is a must. If just one person calls in without a replacement, the whole store will be hurting all day. To reiterate, if you like staying busy and being physical all day, this job is for you. If you’d rather not be sore and on your feet most of the day, this is definitely not the job for you.

Pros

I love working for aldi because they offer great benefits and they give you a chance to learn and be part of a great team/ family. They take a lot of time to find their employees because they want to make sure that they are going to be hard working and trustworhy which means a lot for employees too, knowing that you are not going to work with drug addicts or all kinds of freaks. Hours are good average 40. Management is nice and helpful and sometimes you get to work with employees from another stores and that feels like a exchange of experience where you can learn something new or help someone else learn . Pay is also good with increase every year

Cons

Store gets bussier and bussier every day and sometimes there are not enough employees scheduled for the amount of work that has to be done

Pros

Work hours fly fast. Pay and schedule can be discussed. Other than that your coworkers might also be a plus depending on the store you work at.

Cons

Management tells you you are too slow, customers complain to your manager that you are too fast. No matter how well you do you fall in between and someone is still dissatisfied. One shift can last 12 hours with only 20 mins break when manager will allow you to. By the way, everything is micromanaged , so depending what people you’re working with managers will either support you or mistreat you. This is not the type of job when you can peacefully do your own thing- you will be guided and told when to take a break or when go to bathroom literally. That’s why so many managers start to mistreat their associates... because nobody controls them.
