Pros

Working on interesting stuff, with direct applications. Still highly profitable.

Cons

Is now a giant company governed by an army of VPs and directors who have no consideration for the engineering community.

Thanks for leaving a review. Our unique business model allows us to challenge employees with interesting work as we partner with so many different semiconductor companies. This has also helped us grow as fast as we have the last few years, especially as we make our way into the Internet of Things and servers. The majority and heart of the company are still in engineering, though as you noted in your title there are some drawbacks with a large growing company. Most of the VPs and Directors come from an engineering background, so a lot of feedback from engineers are still considered before moving forward with an action plan. We've scaled rapidly the last few years, and we openly admit that new processes in IT and HR could have better implemented quicker as to not cause disruption to the core business, though we still have much work to do! -Rick C. Pros

Brilliant staff. Plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

Struggling with growth. A lot of position churn makes it difficult to plan projects and communicate effectively. Many projects understaffed in order to balance growth vs revenue which is understandable but stressful and limiting company performance.

Thanks for leaving a review! Even though we're growing at a rapid pace, we're not immune to growing pains. Balancing growth vs revenue like you said is a necessary though we try to limit doing so as much as possible. A challenge is changing the mindset of software candidates in the industry is more than just a hardware company, when in reality, we are about 50% software now! That being said, every company has attrition, though we are quite proud our attrition rate is one of the lowest in the tech industry! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

New Starter First Impressions

Pros

The place feels like a start up, at least in the part of the business I've joined. IT and HR support were excellent for this new starter. Leadership at the company is clear and values based. There has been a great emphasis on ensuring that new employees understand the business model that supports the company, the values by which the company operates and the goals. Sufficient time has been allocated for training and peers in the work environment have been quite supportive.

Cons

Not many. It is a global company, so we west coasters enjoy some early morning meetings over a cup of coffee.

Thanks for leaving a review! Reading that IT and HR support were excellent for you means a lot to us, as we are actively trying to improve our onboarding and induction processes so all new starters are set up for success at ARM. The early morning meetings with the UK can be tiresome, but you at least get to work with our APAC teams a bit towards the end of the work day as well! You can leave Glassdoor reviews once a year, so we would love to hear your thoughts after one year at ARM as well! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager
