      Great company, little opportunity for advancement for senior people

      Pros

      Benefits: 5 weeks vacation plus the option to buy an additional week, sabbatical, RSUs, bonus, full match plus immediate vesting in the 401K. Casual work environment Market leader Talented co-workers

      Cons

      The Austin design center is relatively small, although growing. That limits the possibilities for career growth and professional development. There just isn't much need for technical leads when a design center only has 1 or 1.5 projects going on at a time. The "cutoff" for design and implementation engineers is grade 6, the cutoff for verification engineers is 5. This discrepancy between teams is something to keep in mind if you are looking for a verification position in Austin. I can't speak to design centers in other areas of the world.

      Still great for engineers, but best avoided for others (sadly)

      Pros

      -Good salary, shares and benefits, especially vs other US tech companies. -Still fairly employee focused - DEI and ERGs, well-being, hybrid working, etc. -Thriving graduate programme and excellent early careers team. -Smart CEO with a clear strategy, that seems to be working well.

      Cons

      -Non-engineering groups have been cut right back to the bone - people are overworked and stressed out. Preventable mistakes happen quite often. -Exec level leaders are all in the US and are all relatively new to the company - there is no connection with or understanding of (UK) company culture and history. -Culture has gone downhill alarmingly fast in the last few years - there are lots of very poor people managers, with no empathy or people skills. -Complaints and whistle blowing about terrible managers are routinely ignored or covered up.

      Terrible and inept senior management

      Pros

      Great office, good food and the location and parking are excellent

      Cons

      Bullying and inept senior management within Cambridge that hid their incompetence by blaming others. Lots of charlatans hiding in plain site, especially some of the new American hires. The company had sadly gone very very toxic.. avoid
