Thanks for leaving a review, and from reading it, I will assume you were an intern! We encourage a healthy work-life balance for our employees, as being refreshed and rested allows workers to be more productive. The base salary may seem lower when comparing salaries to the industry standard, but when you factor in the RSUs, bonuses and holidays/PTO, the total compensation package is quite competitive. Team communication is a focus area we are addressing not just in the Bangalore office, but globally. As a company grows and quickly scales as much as ARM has, communication gets more difficult. We do hope that you return for another internship or for a graduate role once you finish your studies! Thanks, -Rick C.

Pros

If you are a software engineer, a big NO, never ever think about joining ARM. Good for others

Cons

ARM is good place for non-Software peoples. Below review is for software engineers(or equivalent) at Bangalore office 1) Managers are just playing game with the global company. They have established a big team just for few simple tools so that they can relax at their will and at the same time global company will think they are doing great job. 2) Work is very monotonous which doesnt need any intellect at all and no knowledge gain over time. So, skill developement in 1 year is almost same as that will be in 10 years. 3) Strict work timing: managers dont care how hard or smart work you have done, they will just see your presence or the work timings. As there will not be any skill developement over time or there are no such work which required smart or hard work , what should be the measure of your work performance then? Its only the "work timing". 4) Software peoples have adapted the existing culture. They dont socialize much. They just complete their work timing and rush home. Also most managers dont so much productive work, they just pass time in team meetings , coffee or facebook etc. or simply "work" from home.

Thank you for leaving a review. I'm disappointed to read your review, as it is eye opening to hear some of the things you are describing from the Bangalore office. While most people think of ARM as a hardware company, in truth we are about 50% hardware and 50% software engineers. If half of the engineers at the company are not happy, we definitely would not be as successful as we are today. I will pass along this review to the relevant parties and if you do have additional feedback, please do reach out to your local HR Business Partner. Without feedback, we wouldn't know anything was wrong! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

Technically engaging, great colleagues, friendly and supportive atmosphere. Very limited/localized office politics! Lots of opportunities to learn and grow. Quick recognition for high contributing employees.

Cons

Poor salaries for fresh PhDs, compared to the market. PhD students better off applying for Experienced instead of Graduate positions. Rigid organization and structures, that limit cross division communication, collaboration and creativitiy, except at the most senior levels. Limited transparency on employee evaluation decisions - often line managers are not privy to decision making process of upper management, and thus cannot provide appropriate feedback.
