Pros

Barracuda is a portfolio company; many different products to sell and pitch over many of the competitors. Well known brand worldwide The team. The team. The team (well, what's left of it as I type this). BJ and Hughes are great leaders.

Cons

Thoma Bravo acquisition. They came in and bought Barracuda when things were on the up and up. Stock was rebounding and around $25 per share at the time. Now that Barracuda is a private company all TB cares about (rightfully so) is making a return on their investment. This means things are getting cut left and right, staff included. It will be an interesting next 3-5 years indeed. I got out at a good time. If you are a seasoned sales rep you might want to look elsewhere as you might not get the desired salary you are seeking . If you are a recent grad or need to gain experience in IT sales this is a good place to start, but keep in mind that things will be very tight until TB decides to sell Barracuda and/or they decide to go public again. Proceed with caution. In the years I was there I saw many of the great minds jump ship. It's gotten even worse since the TB acquisition. Even some of the executives are rumored to be leaving. Expect constant turnover for the next few years as it no longer is a company they want to see employees stick around with a high salary. Too many competitors now. You are even up against Microsoft. Many of the features are apples to apples, but normally comes down to price and support (which was excellent at the time I typed this).

Support team is in huge disarray

Pros

- You get a paycheck (low though compared to market value) - Lunch 3 times a week - Health benefits

Cons

Cons outweigh the pros by 30:1 Employees here have no value other than a piece of paper, for a support job where sometimes you will get difficult problems sometimes and easier problems other times. You are just a number on a piece of paper at this company, it doesn't matter whether or not you do good work, or bad work, if you can put up numbers. Feel free to do whatever you want. Training is atrocious, there is no training other than watching hours of video that you will not be able to apply to your everyday job. The only real resource is to keep on asking questions on their chat platform, where only a handful of people can help, and when some of these handful of knowledge blackholes leave the company, it leaves a huge void and there is nothing being done about this problem. It's as if management does not care whether or not you are prepared to tackle your everyday tasks, they just care if you have a hand and can pick up a phone. The worst thing is that showing competence almost seems like it works against you, if you are exceeding expectations, you are asked to learn more products with more difficult networking concepts/infrastructure with no pay raise. You are simply tasked with the harder problems just because you can.

Pros

Great starting point for a career. Good tech and security policies used

Cons

Employees in the support division of the company are overworked, unappreciated, and severely underpaid. Management does not take feedback or criticism from the employees well at all. Not a lot of gratitude when things go well, but plenty of blame is laid on the employees if something does go wrong. Management also does not listen to the support technicians if they point out something wrong until there are hundreds of cases of it, or only if certain employees make the suggestions.
