Pros
Barracuda is a portfolio company; many different products to sell and pitch over many of the competitors. Well known brand worldwide The team. The team. The team (well, what's left of it as I type this). BJ and Hughes are great leaders.
Cons
Thoma Bravo acquisition. They came in and bought Barracuda when things were on the up and up. Stock was rebounding and around $25 per share at the time. Now that Barracuda is a private company all TB cares about (rightfully so) is making a return on their investment. This means things are getting cut left and right, staff included. It will be an interesting next 3-5 years indeed. I got out at a good time. If you are a seasoned sales rep you might want to look elsewhere as you might not get the desired salary you are seeking . If you are a recent grad or need to gain experience in IT sales this is a good place to start, but keep in mind that things will be very tight until TB decides to sell Barracuda and/or they decide to go public again. Proceed with caution. In the years I was there I saw many of the great minds jump ship. It's gotten even worse since the TB acquisition. Even some of the executives are rumored to be leaving. Expect constant turnover for the next few years as it no longer is a company they want to see employees stick around with a high salary. Too many competitors now. You are even up against Microsoft. Many of the features are apples to apples, but normally comes down to price and support (which was excellent at the time I typed this).
