Disillusionment and Politics

Pros

- Great for students or those looking for experience towards a real career. - Opportunity to improve soft skills, especially in the smaller locations. - Good management (rare) = better outlooks. - Chance to improve people's lives, if you ignore sales goals but provide amazing customer service and referrals, NPS can be leverage to corporate eyes.

Cons

-90 percent of the managers are unqualified snakes; do not understand how to effectively run a business or improve culture, particularly deceptive and pathetic individuals. -Politics are a constant issue, favoritism is rampant. The liars on the sales floor (every store has one "star") have the highest attach rates, praise and promotions, yet create such an unnecessary amount of customer issues and detractors. -Embarrassed to be associated with the company due to rampant unprofessional behaviors across stores, often felt like I was baby sitting. -Cult-like; The true retail culture is a stark contrast from corporate. -Unethical sales practices and lies to customers are encouraged from day one of training. -Future shop legacy still leaving skid marks and bad blood for long-time employees. -Encouraged to sell more aggressively than in other companies where commission and better rates are offered with much more simplified duties. -Geek squad is usually useless, and lacks the power to fix issues the right way.
