Pros

Great compensation Awesome perks Good food

Cons

Canva is a great place for work but it is true that you can’t voice your feedback sometimes: As a woman I feel not great about how very senior male employees can take advantage of less senior ones. Everyone knows about it but no one does anything. Is this the expectation on how to progress in a company? I wish it would be slightly different even though there are so many great things about Canva but I find this very challenging. Please address sone of these challenges and align with your values.

Pros

Free food and snacks are genuinely good (if you’re actually around to eat them). Office spaces look great and are well-designed — very “Instagram workplace”. Some genuinely talented people to learn from (especially early career). Brand name looks strong on a CV. Flexibility on paper (remote/hybrid policies exist… in theory). Tools and internal systems are polished and modern

Cons

Very high turnover with little to no replacement hiring. Teams shrink and the work just gets redistributed. Roles quietly expand without title or pay changes. Constant “do more with less” messaging. Burnout is common and rarely addressed beyond surface-level initiatives. Knowledge drain as experienced people leave and aren’t backfilled. Morale takes a hit when exits feel normalised. Re-orgs feel reactive rather than strategic. Long-term planning suffers because teams are stretched too thin.

Pros

Good product, remote friendly, decent office, working with smart engineers

Cons

- Growth is slow for software engineers. Managers will hold a carrot on a stick and are unsupportive - Horrible processes, things move extremely slow despite having unreasonable deadlines - Work hours are getting worse, its not uncommon to work 60 hr weeks - Some teams are extremely toxic with high attrition, I've seen 5 people leave the company from one within the last 6 months. Toxicity is coming from group leads themselves. - Pay is not worth the stress, on-call rates are terrible despite getting woken up to alerts at 2am weekly. I had a better experience working at AWS.
