Pros

Working from home is good

Cons

Training does not prepare you for most things you do on the job. Software system used is so dated and takes a very long time to work. This does not help when they are timing and monitoring every single thing you do, including bathroom breaks. They will very publicly call you out in front of everyone if you’ve been in the bathroom too long. Equipment I’ve received is old and dirty, I actually had to clean the laptop after I received it. They listen to your calls every day and you receive disciplinary meetings from managers when they deem you “inadequate”. Commission is based on these grades and is virtually impossible to achieve it as you’re expected to know everything. Customers are allowed to abuse you and you have no time between calls to compose yourself. Managers are only interested in superficial issues and never resolve or help with anything fully. Many supervisors are dismissive, although many are quite nice. No feeling of togetherness, never have a conversation with any colleagues unless it’s a manager scolding you. Expected to upsell things that are not beneficial to the customer and leads to awkward situations and complaints. They have a hold and wait policy of 20 seconds when their systems are so so so slow, expected to make conversation during this time with the customer but many are so rude and I am unhappy so why would I want to do that.

Pros

They're desperate for good people, so you can get a decent salary if they need your skills.

Cons

They're desperate for good people, because anyone worth their salt has left. The place is falling apart around their ears. The IT is absolutely ridiculous. Basic things don't function and new systems are introduced regularly, which is intended to help, but only hinders, since there's no consistency in training. I was not onboarded or trained in any way, even though this was promised. My first week was spent on the phone with IT trying to get my desk phone and access to my work server sorted out. Culture of condescension and "old-boys' club" mentality. Women are hired as PAs and Assistants. Very few females in actual decision making positions. I've been talked down to and patronised, by senior staff and my juniors alike. It's utterly demoralising to be made to feel stupid and assured that those around you think themselves smarter than you, even though you are a very successful, confident and highly educated person yourself. Duplication of effort is ridiculous as the systems are all broken. So Excel is the client database management system of choice. Absolutely ridiculous. The least professional place I've ever worked, where a manager will discuss team members' absences and performance in front of other team members (staff included). The only people who work here are ones who have nowhere better to go.

Pros

Capita has a chat process for internet and mobile services in UK. The work is easy and not intricate or complicated. The PL's and floor walkers are always there to help if anyone has doubts during the chat.

Cons

The work pressure is there and chat wrap up time and account cancellation targets are considered very strictly to be followed.
