Pros

- Some great people - Benefits are good - Possible to earn good money (see cons) - Good for early careers

Cons

- Process and red tape is ever growing and killing the company - Takes forever to do anything (can be frustrating) - Pay can slip behind market if you don't get offers from other companies - Have to learn to use proprietary tooling (non transferable skills) - Performance management promotes bad behaviours - If you're experienced, this place will drive you mad

Pros

They use the the latest & greatest technology. Extracurricular learning is encouraged & funded (in tech at least, not so much in Commercial or the Retail Bank)

Cons

Performance management is absolutely senseless. "Differentiators" are essentially decided in year-end meetings and are not achievable by all jobs within the level due to their written job descriptions and duties. Leadership changes at the drop of the hat. Extremely passive aggressive environment where the smallest things are held against you and people are persecuted for it at year-end. You will never get your full bonus. You lose a substantial amount of industry dollars the longer you stay at this company. They would rather hire someone new at an outrageous amount than give existing employees competitive increases & promotions. Do not believe the 'best company to work for' articles. Those are all performative metrics that are not reflective of the WHOLE company
