Pros

Cisco has a good culture that promotes personal and professional growth. There are plenty of opportunities to participate in professional development courses. In addition, one can seek internal opportunities for a lateral move or even career advancement opportunities.

Cons

You will be working with many "type A" personalities. It is very competitive. There are only so many E+ and X performer ratings that can be handed out. As a result, the manager is forced into an unfortunate position of designating bottom 10% even if the person is not truly an underperformer. Also, be wary of internal corporate politics... People who receive raises and promotions do not always merit those awards due to performance alone.

Growing beaurocracy, too many chiefs, favoritism, slow reduction in various benefits, you are a cog in the machine, only looking for aggressive employees

Pros

These days you feel blessed if the CEO isn't leaving the country with your 401k plan in his suitcase. We were our butts off, but we are compensated. The company is solid with lots of $$ in the bank so I never worry about my checks cashing!

Cons

Diggs are grubby Meetings all day every day so real work has to happen before 8am and after 6pm
