Pros
Cisco does a lot of good for the community. They take pride in giving back and are taking large steps to becoming more green. John Chambers is a solid guy and does a lot for the employees and the community. Cisco provides excellent benefits and compensation is competitive. The company is so large that there are limitless opportunities if you are positioned well to take advantage of them. Being global offers limitless opportunity for travel and international exposure. Cisco is also a very flexible company to work for. They have onsite day care and allow most people to work remote.
Cons
Cisco is extremely political. As with any large company it depends on the group but I have seen very dark/bad behavior from executives at the SVP level on down. The lengths people will go to at Cisco to remain in power are drastic and ugly. There is definately a good old boys network and mostly the unsavory survive. I left because I could not trust senior management. There are not many leaders there that truly care about there people. Most are very savvy at managing up and leave a lot to be desired about managing down. I would not reccomend Cisco, despite all of their good qualities because I felt like it was a cultural cess pool.
