Pros

Thriving in Challenge: Embracing Quality Work Culture and New Tech Stack

Cons

"Cultivating a Dismal Experience: A Reflection on My Tenure at Citi" Throughout my tenure at Citi, I encountered persistent challenges that significantly detracted from the overall experience. Despite dedicating considerable effort and contributing to the company, it became apparent that one's contributions did not directly correlate with financial benefits. Instead, it seemed that success was contingent upon ingratiating oneself with senior management, fostering a culture of favoritism and undermining meritocracy. The toxic atmosphere within the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) fostered feelings of despondency and disillusionment among employees. This pervasive sense of negativity hindered productivity and led to a lack of focus on work tasks. The absence of motivation, particularly regarding gender diversity initiatives, compensation structures, and encouragement, further exacerbated these sentiments. Efforts to address concerns and seek resolution proved futile, as avenues for communication and feedback appeared rigid and unyielding. Despite attempts to engage with relevant stakeholders, including HR business partners, the lack of receptiveness and flexibility within the management structure stifled progress. HR can't do anything if management is not supportive. Moreover, instances of credit misattribution and the appropriation of one's work for the advancement of others underscored systemic issues within the organization. Regrettably, the absence of support and responsiveness from management eroded confidence in the efficacy of organizational processes and channels for recourse. Consequently, I would caution prospective employees to exercise thorough consideration and scrutiny before committing to joining the organization. In light of these experiences, I advocate for a comprehensive evaluation of the organizational culture and practices within Citi to address systemic deficiencies and foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment.

Pros

Hybrid at least 3 days a week in office

Cons

Managers and senior managers don't know what their doing. Expect something different on every audit. What is done correctly on one audit would be incorrect on another audit. Like what is so hard on getting proper documentation on DEA/OET, there is no structure. Seniors take on a lot of the bad reviews since Managers and senior managers cannot own up to their own mistakes of misleading a person on work paper. The trainings are horrible. Back to back audits no balance. What is the purpose of bmqs if you don't look at it for the audits? Their lack of structure and inconsistencies cause people to overwork. It makes no sense. Low raises and low bonuses.
