Some of the downsides for working for the Co-Operative food are, for me personally the lack of support received from other stores and senior management when problems occur, this includes scenarios such as being short staffed, technology not working, etc.
Another problem i feel the Co-operative food currently has it emphasis on staff completing certain tasks without the consideration for what setbacks may occur in any given shift such as being unexpectedly busy or deliveries being bigger than anticipated.
There is still the problem of pay for colleagues also, to do the same job in another company i would expect to be payed at least £2-3 more without including Sunday overtime.
The delivery system for my area is appalling as the delivery depot does not seem to cope at any time of the year, especially the peak times of summer and Christmas, this causes unneeded stress and sometimes danger for myself and colleagues due to the time deliveries turn up (if at all) and how products are stacked in cages.
