DHL Express Response

Firstly, thank you for your feedback regarding the DHL Express Direct Channel Sales Business and where you see areas of opportunity. I take all feedback very seriously as it enables me as a leader to focus on the areas where we need to improve. Thank you also for the time you spent with DHL Express. I’m sorry we didn’t meet your expectations as a great place to work. In respect to the point you raised regarding career advancement , I wanted to advise you that DHL Direct Channel Sales has a very robust career progression plan that is currently being finalized, that will formally detail what milestones employees need to achieve in order to be considered for promotion. This has come about as a result of feedback we’ve received from our employees, so we are certainly acting on their suggestions. In terms of opportunities, this year alone we have had over 25 employees in Lead Qualification and Multi-Channel promoted. We have promoted over 16 employees from Telesales to Field Sales this year, plus 2 employees have transferred to Customer Services from Telesales. Opportunities to further one’s career most certainly exist, but they need to be earned on merit and performance, and not on any relationships formed by senior managers. Our leaders are all constantly looking to see how we can create a great “ Respect and Result ” based culture. DHL continues to ensure their leaders are trained and have the tools to support and motivate our employees on a daily basis . In regards to receiving feedback and acting on it, we provide weekly feedback to our employees and communicate back what we can and what we can’t action.. We also invite our employees to take part in Town Halls and talk about what they are working on within their various committees . I recently spent two days listening to all the employee’s feedback, one on one. I take the feedback very seriously and ensure action those items that can be addressed. I appreciate the time you took to provide me feedback and wish you all the best in your future endeavors . Yours sincerely Nick Taylor Sr. Sales Director Channel Sales USA

Pros

Big company with lots of job opportunities & openings

Cons

70s style management, rule by fear of being sacked even for trivial things such as parking in wrong bay, was threatened with sack & being escorted off-site for having hands in pocket one cold night. Bullying & verbal abuse is common place.
